Renault

The group Renault is a car manufacturer French , related to the Japanese automaker Nissan since 1999. The group has factories and subsidiaries around the world. Founded by brothers Louis, Marcel and Fernand Renault in 1899, he quickly distinguished himself by his innovations. It was nationalized at the end of World War II , largely because of the collaboration of its leaders with the occupying Nazis . “Social Showcase” of the country, it is privatized in the 1990s. It uses racing to promote its products and diversified into many sectors. Its history is marked by numerous labor disputes that will mark the history of social relations in France.

Foundation (1898-1918)
Cart Type D Renault Series B of 1901
In 1898 , Louis Renault is a young man passionate about cars. His brothers Marcel and Fernand , worked in the family business of textiles. Louis converted his tricycle De Dion-Bouton in carts to a hp four-wheel. The originality of this is that the Renault team one of his own invention, the first transmission in direct, unlike the chains and belts used so far. fender flares He managed to sell it to a friend of their father who tries on December 24 and was very impressed by its road manners and power on slopes 6 . After Louis-Paul had patented the direct , the brothers founded officially on 25 February 1899 , in Boulogne Billancourt , the Société Renault Frères by Louis with two friends, Thomas Evert and Julian Wyer , to capitalize on this new means of transport. Louis is responsible for the development and production, while his brothers are responsible for the administration.
The first cars are sold to wealthy individuals who can afford them they cost 3000 francs (ten years’ salary of a worker 6 ). Given this limited market, Renault diversified into production of trucks and taxis before the First World War . They recognized early on advertising that the company can derive from participation in motor racing , and engage their vehicles in road races where they won several successes. Among these are: Paris-Trouville ( 1899 ), STD Testing Paris-Ostend (1899), Paris-Rambouillet (1899), Toulouse-Paris (1899), Paris-Toulouse-Paris – in category cars under 400 kg – at of Sports of the World Expo 1900 (on a 448 km Olympic and senior executive itself), Paris-Vienne (Isère) ( 1902 ) … to the Grand Prix of the Automobile Club of Dieppe ( 1913 ).
In 1914 , when war broke out, the company started producing ammunition, military aircraft and later in the tanks with his Renault FT-17 . In 1918 , Renault became the first private manufacturer in France and is honored by the Allies for his contribution to the war effort 6 .

Sedan Renault Celtaquatre of 1935
At the end of the war, Louis Renault diversified further by launching its activities in the agricultural and industrial machinery. However, the company began to experience difficulties in selling its car production as competition introduced low-cost small cars available to everyone. Renault must leave their own vehicles when he has problems with the financial market and its employees. Renault must also form a distribution denver personal injury lawyer network and 1920 , the company partners with Gustave Gueudet , an entrepreneur from northern France, to found the first dealer. The range now extends Renault models of small cars to trucks .
Renault is not limited to France and sold in several countries. The British market Criminal Defense Attorney Chicago is particularly interesting because it opens the door to the colonies of that country. Many modified fender flares vehicles with raised suspension, more powerful cooling and special bodies go by boat to the four corners of the British Empire .
This period, the Grand Luxe stand with their wheelbase electronic cigarette of 3.68 meters and six to eight cylinders can reach them 150 km / h . The suspension is enhanced to allow these speeds and using aluminum in the engine, brakes, transmission, and several parts of the Denver Divorce Lawyer body. All Grand Luxe from 1923 are considered classics and their bodies are signed by famous workshops including Kellner , Labourdette and J. Rothschild and Sons .
In sport, the brand won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1925 (of Renault 40CV), then 10 years later Nervasport Renault ( 1935 ).
World War II in 1968
The Renault 4 CV
In the years preceding the war, supplies provided by the company Renault in the French army are notoriously inadequate 7 , 8 .
During the Second World War, France falls under occupation Nazi and Renault factories produce high amount of trucks for the Germans, while the production of automobiles is forbidden. Deliveries are hampered by Allied air raids on factories at Le Mans and Billancourt . After the bombing of March 3, 1942 , the Gauleiter Sauckel expressed “admiration for the exceptional effort provided by Renault” .
After the liberation in 1944, unlike Joseph Merceron-Vicat , cement employee, who can skillfully negotiate survival … and its output “peaceful” in prison, Louis Renault was arrested as a collaborator and died in prison before his trial. An autopsy revealed that his neck had electric cigarette been broken 9 , suggesting a murder. Its plants are seized by the provisional government and nationalized the 15 January 1945 as the National Board Mills Renault 7 , 8 . Lefaucheux Pierre who was previously the interim administrator, became the first director general.
The small 4HP motor recovery back from the board in 1946 . She pulled out of the game, but only in France, facing the Fiat 600 Italian Beetle German and Morris Minor English. Renault produces more than half a million until his retirement in 1961 while its competitors have all exceeded 2 million copies.
From the R4 its successor, the brand goes back to the engine and front wheel drive hatchback rear. This is also adopted for the first time on a great car at the launch of the R16 .
In 1966 , a cooperation agreement was signed with scrabble word finder Peugeot 10 .
The strike of 1968 and its consequences
This strike is a natural history of an unprecedented rise of struggles in 1967. The strike of 1968 begins May 15 factories and Cleon May 16 at Billancourt. Renault is then occupied by its workers including many immigrants OS. The struggle goes beyond the strictly economic: it is called “popular government” and ” self “.
At Billancourt, despite attempts by militants overflow of extreme left , the CGT is able to carry on strike for one month (33 days, 34 nights), avoiding the many provocations and “dignity” with, as first secretary of the union Halbeher Aimé then aged 32 years. CGT activists that animate this strike are mostly skilled workers from the school’s learning the Renault after the war and politically relatives or members of the PCF .
On June 17, at Billancourt as in other factories of the group, the call of the CGT and the CFDT , the majority of workers vote to return to work 11 .
The social and trade union rights won in 1968 and subsequent years are important and will remain a reference for the social movement. The strength of this movement, with major meetings of the Seguin Island with thousands of workers, will attract few years of extreme left groups hoping to find fertile ground to develop their ideas 100 day loans and actions.
Activists Maoists of Proletarian Left to settle factories Flins and Billancourt and early 70′s saw the continued agitation. Clashes between the Proletarian Left and vigils Renault multiply. In 1972, a militant Maoist Overney Pierre , was killed by security guards of the company, Jean-Antoine Tramoni . The vigil will be held in 1973 and shot dead by NAPAP , a network of underground Maoist proletarian Left , March casino 23, 1977 12 .
In the 1980s , a group from the Proletarian Left participates in the creation of Direct Action , who murdered 17 November 1986 the president of Renault, Georges Besse , both because he had made significant layoffs in the financial disaster of the early 1980s and as retaliation for the assassination of Pierre Overney .
Privatization
In 1986, Raymond Levy , after the death of Georges Besse , Renault takes the lead and prepare it for privatization.
In 1990 , the Renault changes status and becomes a limited company owned by the State adoption of the Act of July 4, 1990 with restrictions on foreign control. Volvo acquires 20% stake after stormy exchanges. In November 1994 , Renault is actually put on the stock exchange and on this occasion, Volvo sells 12% stake and the state reduced its share from 80% to 53%. It was not until July 1996 to see Renault actually spend in the private sector as a result of an assignment by the Government of 6% stake in the hard core of shareholders, mainly banks and insurance groups French, by means of a sale over the counter.
Industry consolidation
The automotive industry began in the year 1990 a movement of concentration. Redemption of brands and mergers: the global and groups looking to expand their range, ensuring a more consistent profitability. Renault already has a good base in Europe what is road rage and Latin America but the Asian , which is just beginning to reveal its great potential for growth, is its weak point. Renault and Nissan seal an agreement, the basis of cooperation combining deep exchange of industrial participation and collaboration. In March 1999 , was officially born the Renault-Nissan Alliance .
The Adam , defense association of minority shareholders, led by Colette Neuville , then stepped in to criticize the terms of the merger between the French manufacturer and Nissan too favorable to the Japanese in her 13 .
Expansion of the 2000s
Renault dealer in Colmar
In his conquest of the country in strong economic development, Renault has also invested in Avtoframos and Korean Samsung Motors will give birth to Renault Samsung Motors . To increase its presence in emerging markets seen as porters, Renault plans to build factories in Iran , in Colombia and Morocco . In 2004 , the subsidiary of Renault in Romania , Dacia , has its “sedan 5000 euros , “the Logan , the group would produce one million copies a year by 2010 . This same car is sold in France to 7600 euros . In November 2004, the CEO of Renault announced its intention to make the implementation of the group in South Korea a foothold for hcg diet reviews expansion in Asia, including China 14 .
In early July 2006 , discussions to consider a new alliance between Renault-Nissan and General Motors are involved but the project was engagement ring quickly abandoned.
On December 8, 2007 announced an agreement between Renault and Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ Lada- to the stake in Renault to 25% + 1 share (via a joint holding company with chiropractic marketing shareholders present Russian, Rosoboronexport). Renault through this partnership is committed:
accelerate the growth of AvtoVAZ and to renew and expand its range of vehicles
Lada to develop respect for their identity, with the aim to strengthen its position in the Russian market
exchange their expertise and technological know-how
Also based in the industrial Togliatti with a capacity ppi claim of one million vehicles per year should be used to produce auctions online Logan. Russia became the first market in number of Renault free ipad vehicles, Avtovaz group sales (720,000 units in 2006) is, according to the agreement, consolidated into those of the Renault group.
International actor
Today, the Renault brand is the most sold in France 15 .
Renault is ranked 10 th worldwide automobile manufacturer (by total number of vehicles produced), according to OICA 2010 16 .
Renault was a few years ago even the best-selling brand in Europe. It decreased in recent years wow gold its position as European market leader in Volkswagen Bankruptcy , also before being overtaken by PSA .
Difficulties
While Renault seems to be a successful business, which managed its agreements with Nissan, difficulties arise best web hosting from the year 2000 due to several reasons:
First, there is a saturation of the car market in Europe, while Renault makes the vast majority of its sales on the old continent;
aging range, with hcg diet plan a gap in the renewal of Unlock iPhone its models. Indeed, in 2005, she released the Clio III , which, however, was very successful, but no model in 2006;
three of its models designed for a wider range was a commercial failure. The first is the Avantime , an upscale minivan coupe – also called cut-space in the press – marketed in early 2000 with more than one year late. The second is the Vel Satis in 2002, a luxury sedan too shifted to this market, and finally the Modus in 2004, a micro MPV city sometimes accused of cannibalism with the Clio , which is Cell Phone Accessories below its objectives but not a failure of magnitude of the two.
Result, its sales continue to fall across Europe over 8% per year over the last three years. Renault only lose market share on the continent from 11.1% of auto sales in 2003 to 7.2% in 2007 down by almost 4 points in less than four years 17 .
Indeed, the Twingo II marks a strategic step for the manufacturer. It is the first link of the Renault Commitment 2009′s new boss, Carlos Ghosn , who plans to sell 800,000 vehicles in 2009 over 2005. The small city is sold on 15 June 2007 , accompanied by a large advertising campaign. Despite a look ordinary compared to the previous original look, Carlos Ghosn put on a European success, not just French as the previous model. Profitability, on paper, is better, which can only be good for diamond brand, but the sales figures of the Twingo II are not consistent with expectations and objectives. Competition for the new Fiat 500 is very fierce. In four months Renault recorded 100,000 orders, and Fiat 80 000.
In Frankfurt in September 2007, on the Renault stand, we Chrome Wire Shelving discover the new Laguna III . While the previous model had noted a lack of reliability and rolling blackouts and had seriously tarnished the image of Renault, Carlos Ghosn promises exemplary reliability for this new album. But as the Twingo, the press criticizes its lack of originality and lack of technical progress over the previous version. This reflects the fact that Renault, in order to restart without too much trouble, decided to avoid the originality that has not previously rewarded when it was unfounded. Renault also modernizing its logo , designed in 1972 by the artist hongois Victor Vasarely , in order to give a better image.
In 2007 , two new Renault models are emerging. In 2008 , Renault unveiled several new features. Indeed, the Modus has been restyled and lengthened (Grand Modus) in January to try to boost sales, which had not achieved the objectives of the brand. There are also the same month, the output of the Laguna and Clio III Estate Wagon, which already has rave reviews from the motoring press, and began to compete directly Peugeot 207 SW , a pioneer in this range of vehicles. Thus, no fewer than three new models come out in a martial arts denver month, which is quite rare. In June 2008, the 4 × 4 Koleos will be marketed.
Also, the sales figures for 2007 show an improvement with better market share in France from 2006, but efforts are still important to give back to the brand image of success and reliability.
In mid-March 2008, the Sandouville plant (Seine-Maritime) is laid off following the poor performance of the Laguna III. Management justifies free grants these results by the burden of quality defects of its predecessor and the penalty on emissions of CO 2 , but the press talking about a little innovative design and style age.
In short, in the year 2008, the situation becomes more complicated than expected to Carlos Ghosn. The Twingo II and Laguna III , the design too shy but with a reliability that has not failed, not selling well. Furthermore, Koleos comes in a saturated market and especially in decline since the introduction of a penalty. In 2009, the sales solar panels curve has been declining and has shown positive signs. Indeed, the diamond brand has replaced the Megane (late 2008) and Scenic (June 2009). These two models, the Mégane range, represent the bulk of sales of Renault.
In 2009, Renault has restyled family Clio (hatchback, sedan) and announced the end of the production of the Vel Satis that despite undeniable qualities did not meet a great commercial success, probably because of his style “offset “.
In April 2010, a cheap auto insurance quotes 3.1% return of dui attorney chicago capital is made between Renault-Nissan and Daimler ( Mercedes-Benz ) following a cooperation agreement.
The long-term project is the electric vehicle announced for 2011 in locksmith France with a consistent range.

At first the two brothers Louis R & Marcel symbolized the house then it was in different circles as sketches apprurent between 1904 & 1920 (char symbolizing the French victory in 1919) Last circle appeared in 1923, which turns into Diamond in 1927 Since This diamond is associated with yellow or orange for passenger cars, green for agricultural equipment, Red Truck & Bus and even Blue for Formula 1 (then William’s & Ligier) but well before an azure blue was reserved for the Navy
This famous diamond of the 1920 was amended in 1947 and 1959 with at that time a refinement of the lettering, it will be enocre amended in 1979 under the Renault Bold lettering which stuck better at Diamond VASARELY designed by end 1971.
